God’s Unapologetic Plan | Memoirs of a Virtuous Woman

Waiting and waiting…sometimes it feels as though what we’ve been praying and hoping for something that won’t ever come to fruition.

I sometimes get caught up in what I can see visibly. I have to remind myself to remember God’s word:

“For we walk by faith and not by sight” (ESV, 2 Corinthians 5:7) is a reminder that we should not get trapped by the idea of what we see with our own eyes but believe by spiritual eyes.

One of my favorite verses about waiting is from Psalms 27:14 (NLT): “Wait patiently for the Lord.  Be brave and courageous.  Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”

In this one verse wait patiently for the Lord is repeated twice.

This lets us know that God is working out whatever we’re going through in that season.

And we are to wait patiently for Him.  Not to get ahead of Him, rush, or force the outcome of what we desire.

If we do, the outcome may not be so good. It may seem like an eternity for a situation to get better or a loved one to turn his/her life around for the better, but God is in control of every moment.  Be calm and still, finish your assignment well, and don’t leave any of God’s work undone.

At the end of the day, God doesn’t have to explain Himself to us.

All we must do is trust and follow Him.  He always knows the perfect time for us, and He will “keep us in perfect peace because we trust in Him” Isaiah 26:3.

In Jeremiah 29:11 He explains, for I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”  Every detail He’s planned isn’t a mistake and it’s for His glory and our good.
